Topic of the Month
This month we are looking at the potential impact the third sector will face in light of increased spending cuts and tighter budgets from local authorities. With the current economic climate forcing government departments to look where to save money, do third sector organisations feel the brunt more than others? What can we do to help ensure our survival whilst maintaining our aims and objectives? We want your thoughts!

Community RePaint
CCORRN's Community RePaint project has been up and running since January 2011 when the collaborative scheme with AmeyCespa and Cambridge County Council was officially opened at Milton HWRC.
The national project sponsored by Dulux aims to prevent surplus, usable paint from entering the waste stream and diverting it to those who need it most; charities, community groups, schools, organisations and individuals.
Choose2Reuse
The Choose2Reuse Project aims to unify and bring together local charities, businesses and organisations to help promote reuse. Through these networks we hope to encourage and spread the benefits of reusing.
Choose2Reuse holds various events throughout the year including roadshows, and fun days. Choose2Reuse hold an annual Green Santa event in February and collect unwanted, or surplus toys and gifts to redistribute to the local charity shops.
Choose2Reuse also hold Trashion Shows through Rags2Riches, where local community groups and schools use old clothes, textiles and goods to present a catwalk event to help create awareness of reuse and recycling.
More information on Choose2Reuse can be found on their including information and documentation for using the Choose2Reuse branding.
Compost Connection
CCORRN has built up a strong list of local Master Composters who can assist in educating the local community with the importance of home composting.
The Master Composters work on a voluntary basis, offering informational talks to local schools, groups, allotment owners and young famers amongst others. They can also offer more hands on demonstrations and activity days to share their knowledge and expertise.
Anyone can apply for the assistance of one of our Master Composters, please contact the CCORRN office and we can help get you in touch with the right person.
