We had a wonderful launch event in The House of Commons on the 20th of October, celebrating AkzoNobel's paper ReColour in which we feature as their first paint recycling centre. We are thrilled to have had the recycling training and equipment that they have sponsored. After all the fun we have now put away our glad rags and put our overalls back on.
The last six months have been a whirlwind of activity transforming our humble Community RePaint scheme into the first paint recycling centre of its kind. We have undergone intensive training from Keith Harrison from New Life Paints together with an astounding array of specially designed sophisticated machinery and equipment.
It has been a tremendous amount of work for the team especially as this has happened in addition to delivering our contracted paint collection and reuse treatment services to AmeyCespa for Cambridgeshire County Council, without which there would be no paint to recycle in the first place.
After many months, our techniques have improved and we are now able to repeatedly create consistently high quality paint blended into a range of beautiful colours.
We are looking forward to the launch of the recycled paint hitting our shelves and sharing the excitement of this ground-breaking achievement with our partners, members and supporters.
We'll keep you updated as things progress, in the mean time you might want to have a look at the ReColour report for the full details.
