Foundation in Fundraising Practice Course

Foundation in Fundraising Practice Course to be
held at the prestigious British Racing School at Newmarket
8, 15, 22, 29 September 2008

Following the success of the course held in the last few years in Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, fundraisers from across East Anglia will again have the opportunity to attend the flagship course of the Institute of Fundraising, now being run as part of The Training Programme, without having to go to London and loosing a week out of busy diaries. This course will be run over the four Mondays of September in Newmarket.

This four-day course provides one of the most comprehensive introductions to fundraising available anywhere in Europe. The programme is updated on a regular basis and has been designed to develop and extend participants’ knowledge and skills of the planning and practice of fundraising.

This highly participative course allows delegates to develop and test their skills through group activities and so increase their knowledge, confidence and skills in planning and co-ordinating fundraising. Through case studies and exercises, participants find out more about how other organisations operate and identify key components to successful fundraising.

The course follows the fundraising cycle and therefore provides delegates with a framework which will assist them greatly in planning and carrying out as well as monitoring and evaluation of fundraising activities.

The course is suitable for anyone involved in fundraising who requires a structured induction to fundraising and their role in fundraising as well as people who have been working in one particular area and wish to expand their knowledge and understand some of the ‘theory’ behind fundraising. It is also suitable for people who want to use it as a refresher or route to the Certificate in Fundraising Management.

Gill Jolly, an experienced fundraiser, trainer and CiFM licensed assessor will be the trainer on this course. If you wish to know more about this or to request details to make an application for the bursaries please contact Gill Jolly, Director of Achieve Consultants on 01449 612660 or e-mail at gill.jolly@achieve-consultants.co.uk.
