To support the local community providing different activities and events which are accessible to all members of the local community.

Buchan Street Neighbourhood Centre is a Healthy Living centre

In addition to providing a range of community workshops Buchan has also run Junk to Funk workshops and a Trashion

Show highlighting alternative ways to reuse materials that are unrecyclable.

1. to help households in need by providing them with access to very low cost furniture, electrical appliances and other household goods.

2. to provide local people who have unwanted household items with a positive social and environmental alternative to dumping them.

3. to provide opportunities for individuals facing social and economic exclusion to get involved in something worthwhile and beneficial to themselves.

CambridgeSOFA are community furniture re-use project which includes:

* a warehouse shop

* a collections and delivery service

* testing and provision of electrical goods.

Charity Shop

Empower disadvantaged people living in Peterborough, to take responsibility for their lives.

Compass also protects the enviroment by recycling and re-use.

Part of the Compass (Peterborough) Ltd group, this part of the organisation provides a complete electrical appliance testing, repairing and recycling service in partnership with Peterbrough City Council.

Volunteers and trainees are provided with a full training programme. Compass meets the Cambridge Constabulary's data wiping standards and several high profile corprate clients including IKEA, Hotpoint, Cambridge Constabulary and John Lewis. 

Compass also provides a collection service throughout Cambridgeshire.

Art of recycliong workshops designed to meet the specific needs,abilities and ages of the partcipants. (using a variety of themes.  

Waste Management, recycling, composting, landfill, awareness raising.

Work with Local Authorities and businesses  in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Awareness Raising, education, new recycling contact including building new MBT plant.

Mark can also give talks to a wide range of organisation, schools, groups etc

Provide training, employment and self-employment oppurtunities in carpentry skills, horticulture, retail, catering, dining area service, IT, Independent Living Skills etc.

To provide real work, learning and leisure opportunities within the community for people who need extra support (e.g. people with learning difficulties, mental health problems and those at a social disadvatnge)

OWL have several Reuse and recycling projects including:

OWL bikes - a project that restores reuseable bikes and recycles those that cannot be reused.

Aluminimum can, inkjet cartridges and mobile phone collecting and recycling.

In addition they have a Community Maintenence Project for Parish Councils, repairing and maintaining street furniture.

OWL runs a community cafe in Sawston providing catering training and a Meals-2-You service (hot nourishing meals delivered to housebound members of the community)

In addition to the above OWL undertakes numerous horticultural, sport and art activities.

We are arts based charity that provides work based training for adults in the community with learning difficulties.  We teach and encourage our students to recycle.

On our site we do practical recycling of wood, glas, clay, paper, metal and garden refuse.

Holds Table Top Sales on the first Saturday of each month.  Would like volunteers to organise a FREECYCLE stall or similar.

Setting up an allotment structure.

Would like any products associated with growing Fruit & Veg.
